Nazem Kadri Suspended Four Games for Cross-Checking Glendening

Toronto Maple Leafs forward Nazem Kadri has been suspended for four games following a cross-check to the head of Luke Glendening of the Detroit Red Wings.

As the video states, Kadri used his momentum, raised his stick and targeted the head of Glendening in retaliatory fashion following a puck battle between the two players. Kadri was assessed a two-minute minor on the play and Glendening was not injured.

Kadri has a history of similar incidents and is considered a repeat offender, which played a role in the length of his suspension. He was also slapped with two fines for embellishment last week.

Considering the Maple Leafs have exactly four games remaining in the season, Kadri’s 2015-16 campaign is now over.

Kadri tallied 17 goals and 45 total points through 76 games this season. The Maple Leafs, in what was chalked up as a rebuilding season from the start, are currently 28-39-11 and sit in 29th place.
