The Edmonton Oilers have given 25-year-old Finnish forward Jere Sallinen to a one-year, entry-level contract, the team announced Sunday. Details of the contract were not disclosed.
Sallinen was a 6th round draft pick by the Minnesota Wild back in 2009, but was never offered a deal by the Wild.
After the draft he stuck around Finland playing with his hometown Espoo Blues for a few years.
This season he played 50 games for Jokerit Helsinki in the KHL, scoring eight goals and 19 points. It’s his second season in the KHL.
