The Montreal Canadiens and forward Tomas Fleischmann have agreed to terms on a one-year contract, the team announced on Sunday. The contract is reported to be worth $750,000.
Fleischmann was at Canadiens training camp on a tryout contract, with the Habs looking to bring in some forward depth.
The Czech forward started last season with the Florida Panthers and was traded to the Anaheim Ducks mid-season in exchange for Dany Heatley and a 3rd round pick.
Between the two teams, he played 66 games, scoring eight goals and 19 assists. He also contributed one assist through six playoff games with the Ducks. He was scratched through much of the Ducks’ run to the Western Conference Finals, where they were bested by the Chicago Blackhawks.

In his career, Fleischmann has played 581 regular season games, primarily with the Washington Capitals and Panthers, taking partial season pitstops with the Colorado Avalanche and Ducks.
