Sharks Acquire Rights to Patrick McNally

The San Jose Sharks have acquired the rights to Vancouver Canucks’ defenseman Patrick McNally in exchange for the Sharks’ 210th pick.

The Canucks GM, Jim Benning, was unsure of what path to take with McNally. While McNally is a great offensive defenseman a serious knee injury this past season set him back a little. Right now the Canucks need a healthy team. Trading his rights to the Sharks was a good move.

On the other side of the coin, the Sharks are in need of a young player who they can mold and who can handle high pressure games. McNally may not play a physical game but can handle the heat when it is applied. McNally is also able to pass accurately and steal a puck at a moments notice. He will come in handy against teams like the LA Kings and Anaheim Ducks.
