Boston Pride Announce Practice Players

The NWHL’s Boston Pride have announced the six players who will join the team as practice players for the 2016-17 season. The group includes Kathryn Tomaselli, Lindsay Berman, Maggie Taverna, Marissa Gedman, Michaela Levine and goaltender Natalie Robinson.

“We are very lucky to be adding an incredibly talented and well-rounded group of practice players to our Boston core,” said general manager Hayley Moore. “These players add different areas of experience and skills to our team, and will be truly instrumental to our success this season.”

Gedman spent last season playing for the Pride as a roster play, putting up six assists in 18 regular season games, and another two in a postseason run that saw the Pride claim the first-ever Isobel Cup championship. Berman was also in the league last season, playing three regular season contests for the Connecticut Whale. She recorded one assist in that time.

Levine topped off her collegiate career at Williams this spring. The Pennsylvania-native led the Division III school in scoring with 10 goals and 21 points in 25 games. Through 96 career games she scored 30 goals and 55 points.

Tomaselli, a 23-year-old forward, also finished her collegiate career in the spring, posting eight goals and 11 points for Union College. In total, she scored 31 goals and 50 points in135 career games.

Taverna was a defender for Boston College from 2005-09, potting 15 goals and 52 assists in 141 games for one of women’s hockey’s best collegiate teams.

Robinson, who hails from Huntsville, Ontario, also finished her collegiate career in the spring. She spent four years with the University of Maine, but saw little game time with the team.
