Milan Lucic Writes Letter to Boston

In Saturday’s Boston Globe, Milan Lucic published a nice letter to the city of Boston. Lucic will be strapping on the skates in TD Garden a whole lot less this coming season, after he was traded to the Los Angeles Kings in a deal that sent Martin Jones, Colin Miller and a draft pick back to Boston.

Here’s a bit of what Lucic had to say:

I was 19 when I joined the Boston Bruins, a very young man.

Now at 27, I must say goodbye to this special city. I lived my dream when we won the Stanley Cup. I married my wife here. Both my children were born here. Boston will always be a key part of who I am.

I played in front of a group of fans I will never forget, especially my palls in the North End.

Lucic’s career in Boston spanned eight seasons and 566 games in a Bruins sweater, over which he scored 139 goals, 203 assists and 772 penalty minutes.
