Kraken’s Ryan Winterton Recalled From Coachella Valley

The Seattle Kraken announced on Wednesday that Ryan Winterton has been recalled from the American Hockey League’s Coachella Valley Firebirds on an emergency basis. The reason for the emergency call-up has not yet been made public.

Winterton has played eight games with the Kraken this season with one assist and a minus-7 rating. His most recent game was a Dec. 17 tilt against the Ottawa Senators. He played nine NHL games with the Kraken last season, the team that drafted him in 2021, but recorded no points, and has a minus-8 rating in his NHL career.

Winterton has spent most of this season with the Firebirds, where he has been successful, with 35 points (17 goals and 18 assists) in 53 games. Last season, Winterton reached 35 points (22 goals and 13 assists) in 58 games. While Winterton hasn’t been as successful with the Kraken, at 21 years old, he still has plenty of room to grow.
