Jets Activate Mark Scheifele

The Winnipeg Jets have activated forward Mark Scheifele from injured reserve, the team announced Sunday.

The 22-year-old center has missed the last three games due to a concussion suffered during practice. He’s expected to re-enter the lineup on Sunday when the Jets take on the Anaheim Ducks.

In a related move the team has reassigned Matt Halischuk to the Manitoba Moose of the AHL. The 27-year-old winger has played seven NHL games this season and has yet to post a point for the Jets.

Scheifele has posted 10 goals and 22 points through 34 games this season. The 7th overall draft pick in the 2011 draft is coming off a 21-year-old season where he looked like he was truly starting to deliver on his promise, posting 15 goals and 49 points in a full 82-game season.

This year he’s on pace to break 25 goals and 50 points, both of which would be career-high totals.
