Hurricanes Announce Streaming Partnership for New Hockey Network

The Carolina Hurricanes have started September with a bunch of news surrounding their new network. On Tuesday afternoon (Sept. 1), the Hurricanes announced the Hurricanes Hockey Network (HHN), plus their on-air talent for the 2026-27 season. One question surrounding the new network was where fans can watch games on streaming services. On Wednesday morning (Sept. 2), that question was answered.

Hurricanes to Stream on Amazon Prime Video

At 11:00 am Eastern, Hurricanes Vice President of Communications Mike Sundheim announced HHN will be streamed as a subscription on Amazon Prime Video for fans throughout the team’s regional territory. The regional territory for the Hurricanes is the states of North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. It’ll make it a one-stop shop for Hurricanes fans to watch the team on a streaming platform for the 2026-27 season.

Following the announcement of the partnership, Sundheim stated, “Given the evolving landscape of sports broadcasting, it is vital that we make sure we are meeting our fans where they are. Streaming is a key piece of that puzzle, and we are thrilled for the launch on Prime Video, which is readily accessible across a variety of devices. We look forward to announcing additional ways to watch our new network ahead of opening night.”

According to the partnership agreement, the new HHN will provide subscribers with live coverage of Hurricanes games, along with pregame and postgame shows hosted by Hanna Yates and Shane Willis. Regarding pricing, fans with subscriptions in the regional territory can choose a monthly subscription ($19.99) or an annual pass ($99.99).

The Hurricanes also stated that fans do not have to have a paid Prime subscription; they will only need a free Amazon account to purchase the HHN subscription. When it comes to where to watch on devices, fans can watch Hurricanes games and pregame and postgame content on the web or using the Prime Video app on connected TVs, smartphones, tablets, set-top boxes, and game consoles. For out-of-market fans, they can still catch Hurricanes games on NHL Power Play on the ESPN App or NHL Center Ice.

This is a win-win for the team and fans, especially with games and broadcast content all being on one platform. No more searching for where to find games. Prime Video will be the streaming home of the Hurricanes and HHN for the 2026-27 season.
