Flames Recall Karri Ramo

Welcome back to the NHL Karri Ramo.

It was just last week that the Flames waived Ramo and assigned him to AHL Stockton amid vocal frustration from coach Bob Hartley with the “musical chairs” taking place in net. The team was carrying Ramo, Jonas Hiller, and Joni Ortio.

Despite Hiller having the team’s worst save percentage, it was Ramo who went to the American League. But Jonas Hiller was injured on Wednesday night in a collision with the Ottawa Senators’ Bobby Ryan that forced Hiller out of the game in the third period.

While in the AHL, Ramo played just 20 minutes, but he stopped all six shots he faced.

The Flames haven’t offered a full update on Hiller’s health, but Elliotte Friedman says he heard Hiller will miss “some time,” implying that Hiller could be sidelined for a bit.
