Columbus Re-Signs Scott Harrington, Alex Broadhurst, TJ Tynan

The Columbus Blue Jackets re-signed three players to one-year, two-way contracts, the team announced Monday. Centers Alex Broadhurst and T.J. Tynan, as well as defenseman Scott Harrington were the last three RFAs the team had left to sign. Financial details on the deals has not been disclosed.

The 23-year-old Broadhurst was a key piece of the Lake Erie Monsters’ 2016 Calder Cup championship. He put up 10 goals and 36 points in 60 regular season games, finishing third in assists and fifth in points on the team. During the postseason he chipped in three goals and 12 points, as well as six penalty minutes and a plus-1 rating in 17 games.

Broadhurst was acquired last summer as a part of the Brandon Saad trade. He was a 2011 7th round draft pick (199th overall) for Chicago.

Harrington, a 23-year-old defender, was acquired this summer in a trade with the Toronto Maple Leafs that sent forward Kerby Rychl to Ontario.

The 2011 2nd round draft pick posted an assist and four penalty minutes through 15 NHL games last season, as well as a goal and three points in 17 games with the AHL’s Toronto Marlies. He was acquired by the Maple Leafs as a part of last summer’s Phil Kessel trade.

Tynan, a 24-year-old center, scored six goals and 40 assists in 76 AHL contests last season, posting career-high marks in assists, plus/minus and games played. He ranked 12th AHL-wide in assists, and was the team’s leader in assists and points. Tynan was selected in the 3rd round (66th overall) of the 2011 draft.
