Jaromir Jagr Likely to Return to Panthers

The Florida Panthers cleaned out their lockers on Tuesday, following a disappointing opening round exit at the hands of the New York Islanders.

Jaromir Jagr talked to media and, besides confirming that the Jagr mullet is here to stay, he again indicated that he liked playing for the Panthers and is likely to return. He had confirmed after the Game 6 loss to the Isles that he intended to play next season, when he will be 45.

Today, General Manager Dale Tallon said he believes that a deal will be worked out soon with Jagr, reports George Richards.

While Jagr posted just two points in six postseason games, he was the team’s leading scorer during the regular season with 66 points. His 27 goals ranked second only to Aleksander Barkov.

If Jagr returns, it’ll surely be another season where records are set regularly by one of the game’s most prolific forwards.
